Consortium

The COCOP consortium consists of 12 partners from 6 European countries (Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands and Spain), effectively covering the main areas involved in the proposal. The consortium is, for the purpose of the project, well balanced with both research and commercial organisations (5 research organisations and 7 companies, four of which are SMEs) covering several sectors of the industry: steel, nutritional and materials products, automation technology providers, consultancy and software.

Since its founding about 50 years ago, TU Dortmund University has developed a special profile, encompassing 16 faculties ranging from science and engineering to social sciences and culture studies. In COCOP TU Dortmund University is represented by its Social Research Centre (sfs) being a central research unit of TU Dortmund. sfs is exclusively dedicated to empirical social research and consultancy in all labor-related issues such as organizational and human resources development, vocational training, health and safety, regional development, etc. The mission of sfs, founded in 1946, is to focus on industrial and social change processes. sfs understands itself as a competence center for social innovation.

VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH (BFI) is one of Europe's leading private-sector institutes for applied research and development in the field of steel technology and connected branches. BFI is a non-profit, limited liability company for which Steel Institute VDEh is the only shareholder. The main object of institute’s work is the cross-process optimisation of steel production under resource efficiency, product quality, economic and environmental aspects.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd (VTT), is a state owned and controlled non-profit limited liability company established by law. As an impartial non-profit Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) and with the national mandate and mission to support economic competitiveness, societal development and innovation, VTT carries out research and innovation activities for the needs of industry and knowledge-based society.

Tecnalia Research & Innovation is a private non profitable technological research centre, settled in Derio (Spain). TECNALIA operates in all the fields of today and tomorrow’s industry: Industry and Transport, Information and Communication Technologies, Building, Energy and Environment, Innovation Systems and Health and Quality of Life. 

MSI is an Automation, Industrial Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering SME company (100 employees, San Sebastian - Spain) that develops, implements and maintains integral solutions based on Control, Information and Communication technologies to increase the efficiency of operation and its clients competitiveness. MSI offers solutions to several industries as metal transformation, iron and steel industry, water, paper, air, etc. MSI identifies the needs and problems of their customers, shares with them the technological concerns and puts forward competitive solutions. 2-control ApS is a small Danish company specialized in Model Predictive Control and Optimizations tasks. 2-control ApS undertakes consultancy and development tasks for chemical industries. 2-control ApS solutions are based on the mathematical library MPCMath covering linear algebra, ODE solvers, optimizers for linear and quadratic problems aimed at C#/.NET development groups. 2-Control also delivers APCSuite aimed for process control specialist and end user, providing an environment for implementing Advanced Control on chemical processes.
